The 109 academic year Workshop for Staff Members of The Student Corps

To strengthen staff's capabilities of tutoring students, the Student Corps held workshops every year. The workshop of the winter vacation in the 109 academic year was held from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., Jan. 11, 2021. Forty-one officers participated in the workshop.

In the first course of the workshop, a clinical psychologist, Ye Yingjun, with extensive experience, lectured about ''Common psychological problems for college students and the counseling skills'', teaching the skills to counsel in common issues such as suicides, emotional disputes, domestic conflict, etc. The skills help staffs detect the ask for help from students at the very beginning, and solve their problems effectively by positive counseling and refer them to professional psychologist.

The second lecture was presented by instructor Lin Hexian, with the topic "Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation(CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator(AED) Training". As an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, with extensive work experience in the Taoyuan City Fire Department, Lin introduced important concepts and instructed staffs how to perform CPR and use AED. With these training, when it is necessary to perform CPR and use AED in emergency situation, staffs will be able to act what they had learned, minimizing the risk of harm.

In addition, the commander in chief of the Student Corps reviewed various works in the fall semester of the 109 academic year. Due to the highly responsibility of police education, the commander in chief aspired the staffs to devote more attention to students and help them puzzle out their knots in daily life. Also the staffs shall discipline themselves to be the best exemplar to students.
